Island Peak, at 6,189 meters above sea level, is situated in the Khumbu region of the Himalayas and is popular among trekkers and climbers.

The adventure starts with a trek to Everest Base Camp, where you can acclimatize to the altitude and enjoy the breathtaking views of the highest mountain in the world. You will soon head to Island Peak Base Camp, from where you will start the climb to the summit of Island Peak.

The climb requires basic mountaineering skills and equipment, but it is a great opportunity for novice climbers to gain some experience before. The climb offers stunning views of the surrounding peaks, including the majestic Lhotse and Ama Dablam.

The adventure offers an excellent opportunity to experience the thrill of mountaineering, while also exploring the beautiful Khumbu region of the Himalayas.

Day one is your arrival day in Kathmandu. We will come to welcome you at the airport in Kathmandu and transfer you to the hotel. Upon reaching the hotel and checking in to the rooms, we will let you know about our trip briefing meeting. 

It is an important meeting so, we will wait until everyone arrives if there are people flying in different flights for the trip on the same date. Anyway, you will get the information about the meeting time.

It is an acclimatization day as well as an exploration day in Kathmandu. You will also have the time to do last minute preparation on this day if you need to. After you take your breakfast, we will take you for a beautiful sightseeing tour of the cultural heritage sites in Kathmandu. The sites include ancient Buddhist stupas, Hindu temple, and medieval royal palace square. You will explore about the Kathmandu valley civilization since the ancient time. This day tour will give you a better understanding of life in Kathmandu in the past and at present.

Time to fly to Everest! We drive to airport in the morning for our flight to Lukla to enter the beautiful Everest region. After half an hour of amazing flight, we will eventually land at the small airstrip at Lukla. The flight introduces us with the adventure and the magnanimous mountains. Once we land at Lukla, we get ready for the trekking for the day. The first day of walk in the Everest region towards the base camp takes us to Phakding village. This beautiful day walk takes us along an easy stretch of the trail and eventually reaches the beautiful Phakding. We are staying overnight at a mountain lodge on the bank of Dudh Koshi River.

The walk today takes us into the Sagarmatha National Park. After the breakfast, we take the trail along the river valley towards Monjo where we check in to the national park. Our destination for the day is the beautiful and happening Sherpa capital of Namche Bazar. The trail stretch in between Phakding to Namche brings us incredibly beautiful nature and views of the surroundings. We will also cross many suspension bridges along the trail. It is an exciting day of walking in the Everest region before reaching to Namche Bazar to stay overnight.

We have an extra night stopover at Namche Bazar today to acclimatize before heading further higher. It is also a chance for us to explore the beautiful surroundings of Namche today. We can go for hiking exploration to one of the nearby destinations and return back to Namche later. The day will prepare us well for the adventure to go towards the higher elevation.

We set off for a long day uphill walk towards Tengboche as the destination. The walk that starts after breakfast takes us through beautiful river valley and mountain ridge. The day will test us with our endurance on the walking up and down the hill. But, yes, the surrounding views are so fascinating that ease the effort. We will eventually reach Tengboche that bring a breathtaking view of the mountains. In addition to the view, there is also a beautiful Buddhist monastery that we can explore after settling in to a lodge.

The walk today takes us to Dingboche. It is our first overnight over 4,000 meters on the trip. We relish the early morning breakfast and start on the walk for the day that goes past beautiful nature and local villages. As we traverse the meandering trail, we will also get to enjoy wonderful views of the mountains. We will feel the effect of increasing elevation with each step further higher. It will make us slow but the steadiness we maintain will help us enjoy the walk. We eventually reach the beautiful village of Dingboche to stay overnight.

We will take another acclimatization break here at Dingboche because we are already above 4,000 meters and going further higher to sleep above 5,000 meters. So it is a mandatory break at Dingboche for our own good. We can go for hiking exploration in nearby destinations in the surroundings. Overnight stay is at Dingboche.

We relish our breakfast and get ready for the walking adventure to Lobuche as the destination for the day. The trail today runs along the Khumbu glacier and is filled with glacial moraine and huge boulders. We walk amidst the wonderful surroundings of the mountains and glacier towards Lobuche. Lobuche is a small settlement of lodges to stay overnight.

The day to reach the ultimate destination of the adventure eventually arrives today. We get all set to trek to Gorakshep after breakfast. But the excitement is to trek all the way to the Everest base camp after Gorakshep. We take the lunch at our lodge in Gorakshep, where we spend overnight today, before starting the walk to the base camp. The trail from Gorkshep to the base camp is a gradual incline through moraine and boulder filled glacial path. Eventually, we reach the base camp of the highest mountain on earth and spend some quality time creating memories. Later, we return back to Gorakshep to stay overnight.

We have another wonderful adventure to embark on and enjoy before starting on the journey back down. We start an early morning hike to Kalapatthar, the highest point on the adventure. This hike is worth taking it early morning to enjoy breathtaking view of Mt. Everest and other magnificent mountains. A beautiful sunrise over those mountains adds to the beauty of the view. Later, we trek back to Gorakshep and further down to Dingboche after breakfast. We stay overnight at Dingboche today.

We are leaving the Everest base camp trail and heading towards Island Peak today. Our destination today is Island Peak base camp. The trail descends to Imja Khola and advances towards Chhukung for the lunch. Later after lunch, we start trekking to the base camp for our overnight stay. We set up our tented camp to spend the night.

We spend a full day today here at the base camp of Island Peak to acclimatize, train and rest for the summit push tomorrow. On the climbing clinic today, we will discuss and prepare the details about the climbing techniques, difficulties and challenges along the climbing route, timings and every detail that is required to go for the summit. It will be a good rest day as well so that we get well prepared, full of energy, for the highlight activity of the trip. We spend overnight at the tented camp at the base camp.

Our start for the summit today is really early, almost right after the middle of the night. With the help of flash light and expert guidance of our guide, we follow the sandy first and then rocky trail that leads us up towards the summit. After struggling at the rocky path for few hours, we reach the snow slope and summit gully where we need some technical activities to do. With the help of fixed ropes, we eventually summit the 6,189 meters high Island Peak. The summit provides excellent views of mountain peaks around including Lhotse, Nuptse and Ama Dablam. After spending beautiful moments at the top, we start the descent back to the base camp. It will be a strenuous effort of about 10-12 hours to reach the summit and come back down to the base camp.

This day is an extra day to make up any possible delays or obstacles on the summit push. If we do not need this contingency day, we will trek to Pangboche today.

In case of the use of contingency day, we are trekking to Pangboche village today. We trek past Chhukung village; cross Imja Khola and then trek up to Pangboche. Once we reach Pangboche, we can laze around exploring the area.

We will trek back to Namche bazar today. The trail descends towards the overnight destination and we reach Namche to find ourselves at the luxury in the mountains. We will take a relaxing time around and stay overnight here.

The walking adventure in the Everest region finally comes to the end today. On the last day of the trek, we trek all the way to Lukla along the Dudh Koshi River valley. We descend towards Lukla via Monjo and Phakding. It is a long day of walk but as it brings the trek to the end, we will take and enjoy it. A relaxing evening and overnight at Lukla today

We get ready to say good bye to the Everest region. The flight takes us back to Kathmandu with a lot of beautiful memories to cherish. Once we are in Kathmandu, we have the day at leisure simply to wander around and relax after the trekking adventure.
